Upside down

I've already arrived home... and I don't know if I like it or not. My admission experience wasn't very happy... because I didn't make it. I'm not going to be an arts student in Cluj. It hurts. Why? Because now I have to change my plans. All my plans. Failure was not an option. Yes, I was a little afraid but I didn't think that this was going to happen to me for real. It happened. I just couldn't stand the feeling that, after an entire year of hard work, I wasn't able to make it. I felt just like someone slammed the door into my face and I could do nothing to change the verdict. I thought of my parents who did everything for me, I thought of my teacher who helped me so much, I thought of my friends who managed just fine.
Now I've decided to apply for the arts university in Bucharest. Here I am. I've never ever imagined that I'm going to be a student in Bucharest. It was never an option. It wasn't part of my plans... but now those plans mean nothing. My mind is upside down. I can't wait to get back on my feet.

Learn to accept failure and transform it into a new opportunity. Learn to embrace the unexpected and don't make long term plans. Learn to stand tall. Learn to be a winner even when you fail.
This is not the end.

Last post before the Cluj challenge

As you might know I've decided to become a student at the University of Arts and Design (UAD) in Cluj-Napoca. Well, the admission exams begin Monday! Tonight I'll be heading to Cluj with my parents and brother. It will be a great challenge and experience. I've been working very hard lately, spending hours and hours in the studio on my own. Eventually, my teacher chose the best paintings which are going to travel along with me as my portfolio. I'm trying to be as optimistic as possible and think only of happy stuff... but I must admit that I am afraid that I'm not going to make it...
For example I like thinking about this gorgeous project I just found : http://kiterunners.ro/
I like the idea so much that I'm going to submit as soon as possible! More about this after I return home from Cluj. ;-)
Here are some details of my most recent paintings. Not much, I know, but enough to make you curious!

Wish me good luck !!

Home

Home is by the sea. Home is where I can hear the waves. Home is where the air is salty, yet fresh. And home is where there is always something inspiring to paint.
As I was born on the Black Sea shore, I will miss it while away and I will always feel an aching desire to come back again and again. Sometimes I wish I were a mermaid and never be able to leave the aquatic paradise. But maybe if I were, I'd desperately want to touch the flowers, run through forests and sleep on the the sand. Who knows? Maybe the best thing to do is sit and enjoy life as it is. And paint. Paint samples of love. Love for adventure. Love for the sea. I think you already got used to my photos "en detaille". Seascapes en detaille this time.

Hello Sunshine

This little painting is almost one year old. I didn't post it till now because... well I don't actually remember why..... The pictures were uploaded, the unfinished post only needed a text.. Here it is! This is one of my last "petit dolls". It's been so long since I've painted a doll..... Although there are many people who don't like them I think they are not so bad. I used to have so much fun painting dolls. I love them and I'm the Doll Queen! :)) No I'm not kidding. I'll never be able to paint petits like before, you know why? Because the new ones will be even more beautiful ! ;-) Wait till I pass the admission exams at the university this summer ! Then I'll have plenty of time to paint dolls !

Seashell collection

As I'm living in a city on the Black Sea shore, I've always been fascinated by shells, rocks or pieces of wood and glass I found on the beach. Even now, I can spend hours and hours in the sand searching for this kind of masterpieces. To me, they are truly beautiful, unique. They are my little treasure. Look at those structures, those colors.... There is no greater artist than Mother Nature. My seashell collection reminds me every day that beauty is all around; all we have to do is live the present moment and observe. I love so much living by the sea !!

This is the first post in which I used pictures taken with my macro lens. I really like the effects ;-) More macro pics coming soon....
