A weekend at home

When I say: "I am at home." People usually ask: "Oh so you are in Constanta for the weekend?" No, not at all. I'm home, in Bucharest. After I had fun with a friend who slept over at my place Friday night, I went at the market and bought lots of flowers! Now the room is filled with wonderful scent. I love those colors so much: pink, white, yellow!! I just couldn't ask for more! As the weather was cloudy, windy and cold I decided to spend my weekend at home... reading, painting, writing on the blog and listening to music. I had a relaxing time... but I didn't do everything I had in mind. Is time passing too fast...? Or maybe I am just moving very slowly, being very lazy...

Unfortunately, the flowers I bought are not so fresh.... because winter is almost here. I am dreaming of fine sunny weather... What do I have in mind? It's time to prepare for snowy days, exams....and Christmas. Should I write a wish list and sent it to Santa?

Fairy Dust by Madalina Andronic

Last Wednesday evening I enjoyed one of my favorite events since I started university in Bucharest: "Fairy Dust" book release. It is a beautifully illustrated little treasure... created by Madalina Andronic. She is one of my favorite illustrators and I was very very glad to meet her at Acuarela (the place of the event). The room was filled with discreet flower perfume, scent of tea and everybody was welcomed to taste delicious cakes and cookies. In other words, Acuarela was the perfect place to be in a rainy and cold November evening. 

I fell so directly interested in such an event because I love illustrating too.... even more, I love inventing new stories, giving them life. That is why I admire Madalina so much, because she managed on her own as an artist and she is earning money doing what she loves. "So you are an art student... and what are you going to be? A painter...? How are you going to earn a living?" They always say that. Well, I am going to do what I love. Just like that... and see what happens.

I love Madalina's work and I can't wait to see more! Maybe Santa will bring me the book ... If I'm a good girl and paint more... hehe You can purchase this work of art here.

That is why I love Bucharest. It gives so many opportunities. I want to see, to explore but.... the weather is so cold and cloudy. It's been so long since I've seen the blue sky... What's this? Maybe a lack of determination?

All recovered and ready for a new start I've decided to share some photos of my grandma's beautiful garden in the countryside. We paid her a visit last week. Wandering around flowers, orange big pumpkins and colorful butterflies made me feel calm, accomplished. I just love those drops of shiny color which pop out everywhere.

Tomorrow my two-week holiday at home comes to an end as I will be heading to Bucharest in order to attend some painting courses at the University. I can't wait to explore the city which I will very soon call home. Even though I visited Bucharest two or three times, I know very little about it, its streets, parks and museums. 

This time I have no doubt that I will be accepted because I will also sign up for the history of arts courses. I love reading a lot, I enjoy writing and studying, ... but I also love painting! I don't know what's going to happen; all I know is that I am happy again and ready to learn new stuff, explore and make new friends. Who knows? Maybe extraordinary things are waiting for me in Bucharest. Maybe the rejection in Cluj was a blessing because now I'm stronger and I feel I learned many many things; and I will never forget my friends there. I am actually staring to enjoy this experience. :-)

I'm so very curious.... I'm going to be here with new posts as soon as I can !

Hello Sunshine

This little painting is almost one year old. I didn't post it till now because... well I don't actually remember why..... The pictures were uploaded, the unfinished post only needed a text.. Here it is! This is one of my last "petit dolls". It's been so long since I've painted a doll..... Although there are many people who don't like them I think they are not so bad. I used to have so much fun painting dolls. I love them and I'm the Doll Queen! :)) No I'm not kidding. I'll never be able to paint petits like before, you know why? Because the new ones will be even more beautiful ! ;-) Wait till I pass the admission exams at the university this summer ! Then I'll have plenty of time to paint dolls !

Christmas Cards part 2

Asa cum am promis, va prezint a doua parte din aventura felicitarilor! Am folosit la realizarea lor cantitati considerabile de sclipici si sper ca si sufletele celor care le-au primit sa sclipiceasca la fel de tare! Desi au fost expediate acum aproape doua saptamani, inca nu stiu daca toate au ajuns la destinatie. Trimisul prin posta este mai primejdios decat pare la prima vedere. 

Te simti minunat vazand oamenii bucurandu-se de micile tale atentii, dar cat de mare poate fi surpriza atunci cand primesti ceva inapoi? Sentimentul e nepretuit mai ales cand nu daruiesti sperand acest lucru. Felicitarea a fost pusa in siguranta la mine in "barlog" si astepta sa fie prezentata lumii intregi. Stay tuned! Dar pana atunci, va doresc tuturor un an 2014 mirabolisimo-fantastico plin numai cu realizari si energie pozitiva! Happy new year! 

As vrea sa multumesc oamenilor spe care au fost trimise felicitarile pentru ca m-au inspirat si m-au facut sa ma simt special. Insa cum as putea uit de Posta Romana fara de care aceasta aventura nu ar fi fost posibila...Arigato arigato!

Christmas Cards part 1

Dandu-mi seama de golul apocaliptic de pe blog (azi se face o luna de la ultima mea postare) m-am decis sa arat publicului larg 4 felicitari de Craciun facute de mine la atelierul de grafica de la scoala. Au fost trimise la un concurs si, din cat mi-a fost dat sa aflu pana acum... am primit si un premiu misterios. :-) Ramane sa dezleg mica taina dupa vacanta de iarna pe care am asteptat-o asa de mult si in cursul careia sunt tare lenesa (ca intotdeauna deatfel hahaha). Da, aceasta este prima parte a postarii cu felicitari. A doua va aparea din tenebre pana la finalul lunii, promit! 

 Productia a fost nemaintalnita :)

As vrea sa multumesc acuarelelelor, pixurilor, sclipiciurilor, tusurilor etc Arigato!

 Ursul Knok este scandinav si va iubeste din tot sufletul lui de animal somnoros. 

 Calutul nazdravan, martoaga mancatoare de jaratic.....

 Purceii au fost pe primul plan evident.... Mai putini carnati, mai multi porci salvati!
